n8ivefl
They sound like an interesting idea. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with GITD jigs or lures?
Hello High Water
I have used the jigs with the little light to get them glowing with no success.
hip_hop_fisherman
I don't know if your talking a specific glow in the dark jig? I have plenty of glow jigs in my box, from angel eyes to go devils, to little panfish jigs. Seems like I use glow tackle mostly through the ice, why? I really don't know. I guess a plain old gumball jig has worked in the summers for me and if it ain't broke, why fix it? They definitly have their time and place however. Cliff Wagenbach
I have had very good luck at times using glow jigs for walleyes in open water. They work well on some days when I am fishing in water 36' and deeper. They also seem to turn a few negative fish on. Cliff
Tyler Holm
I know for a fact, that glow jigs at times can increase your catching rate while ice fishing at night. I've proved this several times over. They seem to help in open water for pannies during low light periods and evening. For walleyes, I personally haven't noticed much difference, but I still prefer because I like the concept.
ratherbefishn
When running jigs on the river I the white glow jigs 80% of the time and usually it get more hits than others in my boat. There are some days they seem to prefer other colors but I would say with eyes and saugs I belive it makes a big difference in the mississippi and deeper water in the Croix. Lakes seem to be a little different on the color thing.
Northlander
Glow lures of all types have their time and places. Im a firm believer in them all year round. The glow white and glow red work well for me in stained waters we have around here.
n8ivefl
Thanks for the input. Just to clarify, I'm talking about the jigs/lures that glow in the dark once they have been exposed to light.I wonder if they would be of any use for bass fishing? Also, they seem to be useful in stained water (right Northlander?) during the daytime. Any thoughts on that?As a sort of side question, any thoughts on using those mini glow-sticks? They certainly work great at night for identifying my bobber but is there any other use for them?
Northlander
I used them for a while but found I lost them in the water when fish hit them. They didnt work any better than a glow jig in my opinion. The bigger ones work great for bobbers like you say.

Cliff Wagenbach
Pout seem to like glow jigs, especially after dark when they bite best! Cliff
ASMOLEY
I think the whole glow in the dark thing is just a marketing ploy to get us to pay $3 for a pack of 2 jigs. I notice no difference in my fishing experiences.
