Fantasy leaque changed it all

Recommended Posts

Since the fantasy leaque started,my interest in the weekly races has really changed.I use to cheer for the drivers I liked and didnt care anything for the others.

Now,I make my picks and cheer for them,Hendrick and Rousch included. If I didnt pick Jr.,o well.

I really lost my interest in the races other than my picks.

Anyone else? Maybe I'm taking this way to serious. confused.gif

I've noticed that my "intensity" when the 24 car gets taken out or has a bad day has decreased a bit, as long as my fantasy drivers are doing well. Last year's bad year also has me throwing caution to the wind with the 24, so I'm a little "fearful" (for lack of a better term) of getting too exicted about his car until the race is over.

It's still early in the season, give it time. Jr. is still doing well so those folks are quiet. Wait a few more weeks when he starts to fall apart and blame everyone from the janitor at the shop to the media for his bad luck.

Now that should stir things up for a day or two!

For me it"s always been that way. DEI, RCR, Rouch, Ford, Chevy. It's the racing excitment itself for me. But I always want Dale Jr. to do good, even though I'm a Ford man. Do you think it would be tacky if I put a #8 sticker on the back of my FORD truck? laugh.gif

It wont stir me up as Jr and his team looks to have thier stuff together.I predict he will make the top ten.

If he does not make it,yes I'm willing to eat my words.

I think alot of the "boredom" if you want to call it that with this years racing has alot to do with there not being much racing going on. Cautions for spring rubbers and more comercials than I can count. I swear that somehow they have managed to add another half hour to each race this year, and two hours of prerace? I do not think that all of these new fans are going to be good for the sport in the long run. They have changed just about every aspect of racing to accomidate the new fan while alienating the veteran fans. What will NASCAR be left holding if these new fans change their mind like they did with hockey?

Yes, I will admit that Jr. is running alot better than I thought he would. Time will tell if he is a cut from the same stone or just another marble rolling around on the playground, in reference to a championship(s). I don't think people should try and compare him to his dad, since that was a completly diffent NASCAR than it is now. He should be measured against his peers, Stewart, Gordon, Busch and Kenseth.
