CALVINIST
Ok, I checked my electronics this morning. Bad news . Gotta replace it. I can probably only spend around $200. What is reputable around that price? I don't need alot of extras, just a basic package. Thanks!
cjac
Hi Cal, The Lowrance X96 for $200 is a nice unit. Especially when you consider that a few years ago, it's pixel count was considered upper end. 5 inch screen is nice too. Some of the dealers and Electronics shops will sell the refurbished versions, I'd look into that as an option from the more reputable places in town too. Hope that helps........above all sounds like a good excuse for a Gander/Cabelas visit to me!

CALVINIST
Thanks cjac, I'll look into it. Now, how do I tell my wife without getting clobbered on the head with a rolling pin? Tony, That's a sweet deal, just a tad too much .

BobT
The Lowrance X-50 series is the gray-scale version of the X67C. Cabela's has them for $119 online. 4" diag. with dual 83/200hz skimmer transducer, 240 x 160 pixel, and temperature sensor.Bob
cjac
DeepportageI'd post this one under the "Equipment/Advice" board.....there are many very knowledgable people on that board! Good luck, Chris
Mr. Pike1
This unit is a bit outside your 200.00 mark. However, I really think the Lowrance x125 is a good unit for the price. I would say it has everything you need and nothing you don't. Generally speaking 299.99. However, for some reason Dick's has them for 269.99. PerchJerker
The Eagle FishMark 480 is the best buy for your money in the $200 range. It's basically a Lowrance graph, just a few less features and power (which isn't an issue on inland fresh water anyway). The display is 480 x 480, which is really good for the money you're spending. If you want to save a few bucks you could look at the FishMark 320, which has fewer pixels (I would go for the highest number of pixels you can afford though).Good luck. CALVINIST
It's a done deal. Got the Lowrance 96x yesterday. Cyberfish, you know I need all the help I can get fishing. Except I won't use the little fish symbols. Thanks to all who chimed in !
