Auger Storage

Flash

Question

What is the best way for auger storage? Do you guys drain the gas? Put something into the gas such as the stabill? Do you put stabill or sea foam into it and run the auger til it runs out of gas? Just wondering what most of you do. I have a Jiffy Stealth 2hp and in the book it is kind of vague.

Thanks,

put stabill or sea foam into it and run the auger til it runs out of gas. I put some sea foam in the gas this morning, shook it up good, drained most of the gas out then ran it dry.

That is what I always do, I replace the plug NEW the following December when I am ready to walk on water again.

I leave just a bit of gas and add stabil. Start it up and let in run until gas and stabalizer ran through the engine. Put in its auger bag for protection and hang it in its spot in the garage. I have not to this day done anything differnt and still running the original plug for four year. I added new blades this year just because I thought I should. Reality is I don't think I needed to do that. I drill hundreds of holes each winter

I run it dry, pull the plug, fog the cylinder, replace the plug with new. Then I clean the motor housing, wax painted surfaces, and spray cables and such with Starret M1. I then take the auger part off, grease the connection, wax the auger and spray a heavy coat of Boeshield on the blades. For storage, I just put the parts on a shelf in our storage area.
