ATV trails in Monticello area

Does anyone know if there are any trails around here to ride? We just got a X2 and the wife is iching to ride.

State law says you can ride state highway ditches until April 1st. So you got approxiametly 11 hours to have fun. Although Wright county has stricter laws according to the map of riding areas on the DNR site: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/index.html

So maybe not in Wright???

The closest legal trail system is up in Isle (SE corner of Mille Lacs). Its called Redtop and is accessed from the SooLine trail. Check out the DNR HSOforum for all the trail system.

That stinks since it is not real close. I did see anything on the DNR site for around here but was hoping someone knew of some areas that were ok. I guess I will have to wait until next weekend to head up to the cabin.

That's a good reason to join an ATV club. New clubs are forming around the surburban metro areas, in order to build trails connecting across the state. Those trails are built by clubs who volunteer.
