Breaking the Silence

It is very unusual to have no activity on this forum for 2 days. I miss not seeing the great shots each day, so I thought I would break the silence and post a couple of woodpecker shots that I took last weekend.

Knoppers, your so right. Spring sightings are fine but I like to step outside and listen for the new arrivals. My first sign of Spring is the territorial songs of the male Red Wing Black birds along the lake shore.

was at the cabin in palisade today, and it was absolutly loud with all the birds, it was fun to watch. had two piliated woodpeckers in the yard, along with a few downy woodpeckers. lots of chickadees, robins, redwing blackbirds, and tons of swans migrating through.

Yea, I was waiting for that solo RWBbird's song and it was more like "hey look at me" when a mob came into the yard.

The Piliated Peckers are here year round, in fact I have two pairs that nest in my dead Aspens. Robins showed up on Tuesday. My neighbor and have noticed a lot of sick Siskins. Anyone else observe that?
