Best Rod Holders for Walleye Trolling

My father got a little lund at an auction last year that I have been outfitting it for everything he needs to fish and am looking to put some rod holders on it for trolling.

Which ones would you recommend???

Hey pike, I have the ram rod 2000 holders for my lund, bought them last year and they seem to be very sturdy. They were 20 bucks a piece from a boat dealer so you might find them cheaper elsewhere. Good Luck.

I'll second the RAM 2000 rod holders, great rod holders.

Or, for clamp on or bolt on rod holders, nothing beats a down-east rod holder from Sportscraft, Inc. I have two of the Saltys model #S-10. Google up "down-east rod holders".

I also run Ram rod holders. They have been real good. Scottys are ok as well and many other holders will work depending on how you fish. With th Rams you can mount them in tons of ways.

I have had the oppertunity to use Cabelas Quick draw, Scotty and Fish on. on my boat. They all have there perks but I have also used the Rams while fishing in other peoples boats and that it what will be on my next boat. They seem to sum up all the good qualities from the other brand and put it into one rod holder.

It's hard to beat a Ram, and now that they are a polymer they are a lot more affordable than they were when they were a cast aluminum. That being said, I have been running Cabellas and Scottys, both are virtually identical and am quite satisfied with them. But if I were starting out today, I'd shell out the extra $$ for the Rams.

I've been using the Cabelas holders (Scotty) and am satisfied with them. I run them on plates on Bert's Custom Tackle track that I installed on the gunwales, makes it easy to configure my rig for multiple rod holders (dipsy divers, cranks), a downrigger setup (this years project), or just put fillers in when we go skiing.
