i will be putting new lights in my fish house and will be running to different sets of light plus tv.i have 2,12v marine deep cycle batteries and was thinking of getting another that way i could have 1 battery to power each set of lights and 1 to power the tv, or is there any other way to power all this stuff or could i use a bigger battery? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks

Wire the batteries in a parrallel circuit (+ to + , - to -). All three batteries become one big battery. I'm guessing the TV would draw the most so that battery would propably go dead first. By connecting all the batteries together you wouldn't have to worry about one going dead before the others.

i would put in led lights and not even have to used to in a weekend with the tv. there are many sources for these includeing fish house supply company. i believe they are a sponser here as well led lights draw so little that you can get away with one battery and alternateing them

Wire the batteries in a parrallel circuit (+ to + , - to -) just like Airjer said. Invest in a 12V onboard charge system right off your alternator.

Various options are available and you simply charge within minutes of driving the vehicle. (2) batteries very sufficient if identical in make/model and age newer or new.

With a mixture of 12v lights and or LED along with your TV you will never need a third battery. The charge system is great as you are 100% charged just driving to the lake or off smile.gif

I ran a TV, Camera, LX-2, (twelve) 12V lights with (2) Interstate deepcycles.. Never had issues where a simple starty of the truck didn't bump them right back up!!

Impliment some LED options with a few 12V for extreme light and your good to go with no battery hassle or handling all winter smile.gif

If it was perm. house another option would be to leave the batts in the shack and invest in a solar trickle charger to keep a charge on the batts depending on the size of the solar panel and how often you use your batts this should keep them fully charged and ready to go, probably could leave it on during the summer also to prevent batts from going dead and shortening the life of the battery. I'm not a battery expert but a buddy of mine did this in a garden shed on his property and now has lite in there whenever he needs it, without needing to run power from the house for it.

Hi I'm planning on buying a battery for my Ice house next year. What have you heard about the Cabelas AGM they have a few different sizes. I already have a 15W solar panel to keep it charged, I still need a regulator from Harbor Freight. Cabelas has a size 24 1195 marine cranking amps, 945 cold cranking and 178 reserve on hand and on sale. I plan on getting the small LED lights to put buy my holes and they dont draw very mych power. Hopefully in July I will be giving Fish house Supply an order for Lighting.

ok i have to chime in again here. as far as solar. you will need 45 watts of solar for each battery. and you are looking at close to $1000 to do this. i have solar and winter days are not long enough to keep up. and as far as batteries go. the best batteries you can buy are #1 two 6 volt golf cart batteries, hooked in series. to get 12 volts and 1 45 watt solar panel will keep it sufficiently charged. #2 optima deep cycle only batteries. and 1 45 watt panel again will do the trick. both do come with a price but are well worth it. the optima will be my next pruchase because i use them in the boat as well. ..... paul
