Quickest way to Baudette?

Doonbuggy

Question

Heading to LOTW this weekend and am getting conflicting info on the quickest way.

Two options appear to be N on 35, thru Grand Rapids and then head north.

Second option going up thru Walker, head north east of Bemidji, past Red Lake, etc.

Thanks for any input.

Doonbuggy, It depends on where your starting from. From the north metro we take 169 to GR and then over to Deer River. Up 46 etc. Good fishing. DrJ.

Doone,

I take 169 N. to Garrison, West on 18 to 6 North to Remer then 6 to the shortcut to Deer River (Hwy 2 west out of Deer River to Cty 46 NW to Northome, west on 71 to Shooks and then up past Red Lake to Baudette.

Thi is the "back way" and it looks like the long way on the map, but it keeps you off the main drags thru the larger towns, etc. and I get from my door in Excelsior, MN to Baudette in 5 hours...of course, if you leave on Friday afternoon time will be much greater than 5 hours!

Doonbuggy, I'd go up past Red Lake. It is actually a bit shorter. But if you want a scenic route, you can take 169 or 65 north then continue the Grand Rapids route once you hit Hwy 2.

MapQuest will tell you to go through Grand Rapids.
