Cabela's Fish Eagle II

Who's blank does Cabela's use for there Fish Eagle II fishing rods? Are they Hagen's - St. Croix or a foreran brand? Also how does the Fish Eagle II compare in quality to the St. Croix Premier?

When I bought Cabela's XML's about (CLS703)8 years ago, they were Loomis--I still have them all today and they're rock solid.

I called Cabela's at the time I was making comparison's and the product manager from Cabela's told me who they used. You might want to call their 800# and ask for the Cabela's labeled product manager for their Rods.

St. Croix makes a sweet product but they're getting a little pricey like Loomis has. I'll buy Cabela's branded over the others...

I bought a couple of Cabela's Fish EagleII rods a few years ago and still have them both.

Both are good solid rods with good feel and action.

Cabelas has St. Croix blanks on sale on their HSOforum in the bargain cave link - priced from $17 - $72.

I called Cabela's and talked with a product manager. He explained that the blank for the Fish Eagle II is imported from China. They have a 2 warrenty and are not a bad rod for the money but they are not comparable to St. Croix or G-Loomis. You get what you pay for.
