Mid to late winter perch patterns?

I tipically find my bigger perch in the deeper water all season long untill we get into the warming days of March then i don't target them. By deeper water 20+ feet but it all depends on the lake. I have a lake not to far from Saint Cloud and you can find perch at all depths from 20-5 FOW.

Just down size your walleye fishing in the same place you would catch a evening bite walleye but fish it from 10:00AM to 2:00PM for prime time. Just do not go too small with bait if you want to catch jumbo's. In mid winter start deep till late ice then work shallow where the folks in February had the spear houses setup is a great place to fish mid march through ice out. In june I lindy rig with leacheas or jig with shinners on winne for perch while my friends are after walleyes I just grab the smaller bait out of the bunch. and if jigging use a real long hook or stinger. and wait for that tap tap tap then set the hook. cool.gif Just let the big ones over 12" go for breeding stock please.
