Lazer 224, Sticks at bottom of hole?

Kylersk

Question

I just picked up a Strike Master lazer 224 and although it gets through the first 14" of ice like butter, it's that last inch that causes it major pain. While testing it out, I got it stuck near the bottom of the hole about 3 outa 5 holes. ONce stuck, the drill will not spin, and I've got to jiggle it around till I can get it out. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance.

I agree with 18 inch. Let the weight of the auger do the work. Definately don't push down. If you have to push down at all, it is time for new blades. Seems like with mine I almost have to lift up on it a little bit. Earlier this winter when I first had it out it would stick on the bottom of the hole. I put new blades on it and that took care of it. My two cents.
