BD110
Hey Dennis,I just got around to seeing the post about the Cool Cats event. My buddy bmc told me about the post. This was a fun event last year. I'll have to see if anyone is planning on going from the Duluth forum. I did not see anything posted anywhere else so I thought I should at least say:HAPPY BIRTHDAY DENNIS!!!!!!Take care,Tom (BD110)
Ralph Wiggum
Yes, happy birthday, Dennis! Has anyone been out to Horseshoe lately? Just wondering how the ice is. Will it be thick enough for traffic or is it near enough to walk out there?
Guest
Happy B-Day Dennis! I didnt notice that little b-day cake. How many candles should we grab? Or should we just light the cake on fire to simplify things?
Dennis Steele
Don't know how I missed this but thanks guys. I officialy turned old that day.Any way, Less than a week to Cool Cats and I'm getting a little excited abut seeing all you there. Were going to have a good time and I can't wait to see what gets on the pot luck table! I recieved some great stuff from our ICE Series sponsors to give away also. I was up to the 'Shoe today and found a lot of cats hanging around the area that we will be having the event. Couldn't get the dange things to bite, but hopefully they'll get hungry next weekend!I also found a good 16 to 18" of ice. I drove out but did keep my truck on the ice road and didn't venture too far off it. I'll be driving out to the Cool Cats location next week but making sure that I access at the winter access marked on the map. I would not use the DNR access as it goes right into the river system. Hope to see a bunch of you guys there!
The Chemist
Hey Dennis: I was out there on Saturday and we ended up w/ 4 and lost a dozen midway up or at the hole. The holes I had cut were in the range of 20-24" deep.

fisherking32
I made it out on horseshoe today for a couple hours. I drove the car out from the south access. There is a little slush right as you drive on, but drove all the way out on the road. There was a good 17-18" of ice, so driving shouldn't be a problem. 3PM, Started out in 28' of water and marked plenty of fish, just the finnicky ones. So the wife, AKA catwoman, put on a hunk of her secret bait and left it on the bottom. She iced 3 cats in an hour, one a 20"er. There I sat with the vexlar tried everything, but the cats just came up and sniffed a little, then left. By 5 the cats moved to shallower water and we had to leave. There were 3 other guys in the area jigging cut bait with 1 fish before we left.Well hope to see ya'll out there. Any suggestions on what to bring, besides plenty of secret bait? fisherking32
RW, Actually I am a transplant from Missouri. The metropolis of Spring Hill was even too large for me, I live on a farm, the only place to be. I have been here for almost a year and still findin some good fishin holes.
