shamalex72
Is 65# 24 volt enough for a 1750 fishhawk? The boat is approx 1100#. I just don't want to underpower it. Thanks
0 ChuckN
Yes, I believe it should be fine, however you can never have too much power when it comes to electric motors. I have the same MK motor on almost a 19' glass boat. It works ok for me... If you battle lots of waves, don't skimp on the shaft length. I have the 60" now and wouldn't have it any other way. 0 Wayne Ek
It could be, however if the dollars are available I would go for a higher peak thrust, you can get upto 82 pounds of peak thrust. This will allow you to fish longer with out recharging, in wind or current and I think it's easier on you batteries in the long run.
0 Northlander
I think 65 is ok in most situations but as the guys above said wind and current could make it tuff. Unless your getting a heck of a deal on it I would step it up a notch as well. Long shaft is always key. Yes longer is better!
0 shamalex72
Thanks for the replies. Another question, I had a power drive on my previous boat and was considering a cable drive for my new boat. Would it be hard to get used to the different foot pedal, and do you have to keep your foot on it all the time.
