Ok I made up my mind on the brand. Now i can't decide over

the power drive ap.cp.us.80#24 volt or Maxxum pro 80# u-sonar 24 volt or maxxum 80# u-sonar 24 volt.Past motor was a motorguide brute 42#bow mount with cable lasted a long time

20yrs but finaly got tired.time for a new one this motor is going o a 1800 pro v (bow)Looking for pro and cons.

Do you like cable or power drive?

Personally, I love my auto pilot. I can flip the AP on and walk away to grab a beverage, bait, help land a fish...and not drift off the structure or lose control of the boat.

Cable drive are very nice and boat control is much better...but you can't take your attention off of it in most circumstances.

I like the Maxxum for the extended battery life. I currently have a 55lb Maxxum on the stern of my little boat and I love it. I think when I upgrade boats this spring, I'll look to get a 80# 24V Maxxum w/A.P. and C.P. for the bow. Just my opinion. Good luck with your decision.

I put the Maxxum pro 80# u-sonar 24 volt on my 19ft Stratos glass bass boat last summer and I absolutely love it. It pulls the boat around fast enough to troll crankbaits for walleyes, and it cuts through the thickest milfoil without a problem. That is the biggest advantage I see over the AP. I went with the pro version just because if you are already spending that much money, the extra $ for the lift assist is definitely worth it. I can stow it with one finger.
