fish-4-fun
Does anyone know anything about the hummingbird 3d depth finder? I think they look like they would be the way to go if you really want to see what the bottom looks like.

0 fish-4-fun
I was looking at the 947, it is grayscale no gps, cost is 500 the one with color is like 1700, I can't afford to spend that kinda money on a depth finder, but I would really like the gps mapping one. Do you know if eagle depth finders are worth a (Contact US Regarding This Word) or not, they are pretty reasonable for a color sonar plus mapping gps. 0 croixeyes
Fish-4-fun.....the eagle graphs are alright for the money. The lowrance lms 480 is a monochrome graph that has mapping its about 500 bills .Good resolution 480by480 and more options than youll probably need. That would be my pick for the money
0 Ralph Wiggum
Unless I've been misinformed, Eagles are just stripped down Lowrances.
0 croixeyes
R.Wiggum is more or less correct lowrance and eagle are the same company. There is a pretty big difference in the color units they offer.I went over this with a gentleman last year at the sports show.If its a color graph your looking at go to thornes or somewhere else, they should be able to explain the differences between lowrance and eagle units. 0 katoguy
3-D has been around a long time. The new technology (last year) is "side imaging". Very cool. I think Humminbird has it patented.???

0 fish-4-fun
I was thinking about the lowrance 337c. I think that was 700 but it is color has gps and has dual transducers. But I still think the 3d would be awesome, especially if you want to find good strucure, otherwise in 2d how do you really know what kind of structure you are on.
