You will want them to be 12" so that you have some play when drilling the holes. I wouldn't want any smaller myself. Even with a smaller auger it is nice to have some room. If you want smaller you will probably have to figure out a way to make them. As far as I know there isn't anyone that makes smaller ones.

Yes, I agree but I have a Ice house that I want to put two more holes in, one in each corner but the cross member will only allow me to put a catch cover in that's less than 12 inches. I have 11 inches between the cross members. So you say nobody you know of makes a smaller catch cover. Do I have any other options that would still look neat and be functional? I don't want it to look like dump and it has to work well. confused.gif
