Wade Joseph
Did my favorite driver retire or not? Or is he doing the Bill elliot style, race when I want to semi retirement thing? I have not heard anything official.
lawdog
No he's running this year full time because Rousch whined and begged and strong armed him into racing again after he screwed up the McMurray/K.Busch contract sagas and left himself without a driver. Wade Joseph
Restrictor plates and any track under 1 mile should be banned.
lawdog
Quote: ...any track under 1 mile should be banned. BLASHPEMY!!! Short tracks are where its at! 1.5 mile cookie cutters are what should be banned!
outdoor ran
I'm with ya lawdog. Those cookie cutter tracks put ya to sleep.
Cyberfish
I think you meant "over one mile" should be banned hehehe Short tracks rule, races at the shorties never put me to sleep, though the amount of wrecks at Bristol can get pretty rediculous. NF, MM isn't the only one complaining about the "racing" at Dale-tona and Chevy-dega!
Waterbeater
I can watch any race but the road coarses really struggle to keep my attention. I used to not care for the 1.5 mile tracks til I went to kansas and pheonix races. They kind of changed my mind and besides most mile and a half tracks are starting to get "broke in" (lack of a better word) and have gotten multiple groves. I really want to go to a Darlington or BRISTOL race sometime soon. I've never talked to anyone who disliked them. Anybody here been to Bristol? I'm just counting the days til speed week. Cyberfish
I only get to see em on the TV. I bet being there is alot more exciting for sure! If I ever got to go, I would want to go to Darlington or Richmond. but it is just not in the budget.
JohnMickish
Lawdog, you can also blame Roger Penske, Kurt Busch and Rusty in this as much as Jack. I put more blame on Rusty as he is the one that started the ball rolling (long before Jack and the boys went after Jamie), knowing that Busch was under contract. lawdog
All Rusty did was retire and Rousch had his deal with McMurray long before Busch did anything.Besides, regardless of how he ended up with an empty seat, he leaned on Martin who now looks like a dork running a whole "salute to you" retirement tour for a year and then coming back again. Its like the "going out of business" sale that lasts two years! Nothing like kicking your fans in the teeth with a sham goodbye tour. Are they doing another one this year? Is anybody who bought his 2005 "final year" salute to you memorabilia going to get a discount on round 2's junk? Its just an all around bad deal...
