Weighted hooks for plastics

I got a kick out of plastic jerk baits in the shallows last spring. The bass liked them and the slimers loved them. I usually put a very light bullet weight on them Texas style--1/16th oz or so. This seemed a little clumsy at times so I put on a very light jig. Has anyone had much experience with the worm hooks with a little weight to them for this kind of bait. It seems that they would get the wacky worms down a little deeper too. The wheels are turning in my head as I realized again today that ice fishing is no comparison to the real thing.

I was looking at some weighted hooks just the other day with the same thought in mind about the plastic jerk baits...These had a small barrell shaped weight that could be moved back or forth on the hook shaft for different types of fall....Either owner or Mustad I THINK?....Whatever , I'm getting some for spring.

I just picked some up......Ultra point Mustad.....A keeper hook with a weight that can be adjusted along the hook shank to adjust type of fall....Look great....Better than anything I have seen to variable fall on plastic jerk baits.
