I posted a similar question and I have narrowed down to eskimo quick flip III $439 , Frabil XLT Ranger$449, a used 2002 Voyager for $300, what do the experts out there think. This is going to be a xmas present for my dad and hopefully I will borrow it when he is to busy.

The voyager is by far the best. The Eskimo is a good second choice. The Frabill, even though the price is low, is not a good choice. The fabric is very prone to rips. If the house would happen to get blown accross the ice iw will most certainly have a hole in it. If the heater would happen to get too close to the side, it will instantly melt the fabric. Clam used to do that also, but has gotten better since they went to the thicker heavier fabric.

Have you checked into Otter yet? They have a wilderness series that is a very nice shack and is very attractively priced.

If you decide to go with the Eskimo, check out Marine General. They have it for $390 w/ bench seat and $320 w/out.

I like the idea of giving dad something that you can use too. I am also guilty of that! smile.gif

Edit: Check out the for sale forum too wink.gif
