Anyone seen ice yet?

I found 3 lakes in Todd county with this much Ice...

It looked like about 2" and was not safe to walk on. but there is hope if the weather holds out.

All of the smaller lakes that I drove by today going to work were froze over. THe bigger lakes had anywhere from 5-200ft of ice out from shore.

On Lake Minnetonka there is skim ice on many of the shallow "backwater" areas.

I took the dog out for a 5AM walk this morning down by the local pond. It was still pretty dark, so I picked up a small rock and tossed it out into the pond. I heard that beautiful sound...tink, tink, tink...

I saw a skimming on the edges of Medicine yesterday on my way home, and the Champlin Mill Pond was totally frozen over then and this morning too. Nice to see that little bit of snow on top of the water where kids were fishing from shore last weekend!

Driving home from moorhead on thursday, Big detroit was frozen all the way, and so was everything else I saw. I checked my early season spot near brainderd and there is just under 2 inches, if we could get one more day of 10 degree weather I think I would be fishing.

Now lets just hope we dont get about six inches of snow on top of the 2 inches of ice.

Tyler D do you go to school around moorhead?? 2 inches of ice is a good start, one more cold day would help, but thier saying a warmer weekend though but it will get cold again next week thats what i heard.
