OUTDOORNUT
Professional trainers use trailers to transport their dogs everyday.
Kodiak
i seen a guy with a chevy pickup with a reciever hitch mount holder with two dog kennels held onto it with bungee straps?!?! that guy must trust bungees and not like his dogs.
setterguy
I would make sure that there is plenty of ventilation, while moving I would doubt that you would have any problems, but obviously don't leave the truck running while getting food ect. I have transported my dogs in trailers many times with zero problems. Good luck in SD.
LABS4ME
When I ran trials I used a trailer all the time without problem. If it is a dog trailer and not some utility trailer with crates in it, you'll be fine. Good Luck in So.dak.Ken
Kodiak
I was looking at dog trailers @cabelas, they are $$$$
MNice
I would be in a trailer before my dog!! I have a springer who is 95% pet and 5% hunter. My wife would kill me if the dog is anywhere but on her blanket in the back of my x-cab.
Mille Lacs Guy
I would not be concerned with carbon monoxide at all. Most of it would go right into the air before it came into the trailer. I would be more concerned about dogs in a back of a pick-up with a topper as oppossed to a trailer. If you had a leaky exhaust under the vehicle some carbon monoxide could possibly get into the topper. Really, I don't think you have to worry about either if you have some ventilation. I transport up to 7 dogs in a cargo trailer that is properly ventilated. This is a perfectly fine way to transport dogs with the proper ventiliation. I found cargo trailers are better than actual dog trailers for transportation dogs. Just my 2 cents.
