atv HELP ME!

My artic cat 300 atv is so poor at cold weather starting I can't use it for ice fishing ,is it just mine or is there better brands ,I would like to stay under 500 cc

Mark: I just put a tank heater on mine and it starts just like summer!!! $40. for the heater is a lot cheaper than buying a new wheeler!!....Kaz

My cat 400 started much better with synthetic oil in the cold.

Your hard starting in the winter may be as simple as the oil you have in your machine. A good, light weight oil, a excellent carb cleaning or kit, and a couple new plugs and I would guess that machine will fire right up for the rest of the winter.

Much cheaper than a new machine. If it starts and it makes the trip there nad back.. it does all that it has to do.

WHEN IS THE LAST TIME THAT YOUR CARB HAS BEEN TAKEN APART AND SERVICED? ONE THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT THE CARBS ARE JETTED LEAN TO HELP WITH EMMISSIONS. IF YOU GO ONE SIZE BIGGER ON THE PILOT JET, IT WILL START A LOT BETTER AND BE LESS COLD BLOODED. FIND A GOOD SHOP AND LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOUR CONCERNS ARE AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM FOR YOU.
