nofishfisherman
Well said Buzzsaw. I think you wrapped it up nicely with that post. Thats basically how I feel in a nut shell. Maybe I should hire you to post for me, you seem to wrap it up quicker while I ramble on.
lawdog
Quote:Well I would have to say Brad Johnson lost the game for us yesterday if we follow Lawdogs logic. 2 bad interceptions and not much else. The special teams were worse than Johnson (although he wasn't good)! The one interception on the floating duck into the endzone was a horrible pass and nothing but his fault. The shovel pass though was not his fault at all. It hit the reciever right in both hands and he booted it up in the air for a pick. That isn't the QB's fault, actually I think he did real good to try to make something out of what would have been a sack.
8-Ball
For me, it was not really a debate at all. I was just giving my take on the fact that Culpepper had the nerve to suggest going somewhere else, because he was not wanted here, and how ridiculous that sounded based on the fact that Zygi gave him a new contract worth several million more than the old one was written for. I don't want a debate-just stating my opinion, thats all.

I think the media can paint any kind of picture they choose and we as consumers of their product tend to read into alot of what it said and believe the media and their take. You know, sometimes the whole interview isn't shown or certain parts are pulled out and they can make a player look bad.... who knows, I can't pass judgement on C-pep yet.... if he did say that maybe he is showing his frustration or maybe the media spun it negatively how they always do here in Minnesota. Next year our Defense should be good as they've shown they can be after playing together for a year... would you guys rather have a healthy Culpepper or Brad Johnson? I can't believe anybody would seriously say Brad Johnson but hey... I've heard crazier things said.
nofishfisherman
Quote: Injured Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper reportedly raised the possibility of playing elsewhere in 2006 during an off-camera interview Sunday morning with ESPN, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I want to play where I'm wanted," Culpepper told reporter Andrea Kremer, who relayed the statement during ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown." Why would he come out and make a one sentence statement saying "I want to play some where that I am wanted"?there is more that is not being reported. What was the question that she asked him. Many questions could have gotten that answer. For example what if she asked him, "what if the Vikings decide you aren't the future of the team?" Whats the problem with him answering I want to play where I am wanted, sounds pretty diplomatic to me.I bet that they just took that smal piece of the interview becuase it sounded more scandelous. Probably very innocent statement though. So until we can read the entire interview I wouldn't jump to conclusions that this means he is asking for a trade. I love it when I don't feel like I'm the only one who feels a certain way (thats a diplomatic way of saying "one of the few who gets it") People overreact and believe anything they are told.... when the media reports something alot of times it is just a part of a statement, a small part that when used in a quote can be looked at in a positive or negative way.
