Big Woods Deer?

How many are headin North to hunt deer in the "big woods"? By this, I mean forest and swamps only, on public land surrounded by "many" other hunters? I believe this is the truest test to hunt the wiley whitetail.They are really skittish, eat and bed most anywhere, and leave a tough map to follow their wherabouts. This will be our groups 28th straight year in same public square mile. What a rush to hunt in this setting, I feel the toughtest way to score. We do quite well cause we sit still in portables all day and let the other "pushers" move the critters for us! But if you don't have patience or enjoy the woods, don't go! Good luck, everyone! this is only my 3rd year hunting and also going to the same PUBLIC land not too far north maybe an hour and half to two hours north of the twin cities on 169 i found a stand made that i have hunted the past few years. and have taken all my deer from there 1 doe my first year and a 4 point buck my second my friend shot a 10 point buck in public land too. same area. This year unfortunately the first day i wont be in the stand early in the morning due to the fact that ill work until 8a m saturday morning. so I will still be doing something ill be pushing the deer for other people this time i guess. I GUESS WE ALL HAVE A ROLE he he. this year im buying a stand also although ill have to carry 45 extra pounds on my back oh well it beats not being able to take advantage of a certain spot you feel might be good.
