tearin' lips
Just wondering how everyone is doing throughout the state. I live in International Falls, and we are just now starting to see the first scaup down, few cans in the area, some teal left, Buffles, pinnies and quite a few mallards. Pretty much a good mixed bag. Anyone seeing real numbers of greenies yet. Also where is everyone hiding the geese? Hunted Roosevelt in the early season and did well, lots of geese. Now there hasn't been hardly any during regular season. Anybody seeing them down south yet.

ChuckN
From the reports I've read and friends who have friends in Canada....Canada is chock full of birds. They have no reason to leave with all the food and no cold. Check out the weather reports for far north Canada....it's as warm there as here. Insane!! One big cold front could make for a massive push. It's time. The birds need some convincing...a strong, cold, northerly wind. And I will be waiting! TV BOY
I put on a few miles around Glenwood area and saw jack squat! ( now I know why I go to North Dakota to shoot Greenheads)In our search I saw the most Pheasant hunters I've seen around in years.
eyepatrol
Down here in southcentral MN I've seen a few mallards move through along with a few flocks of ringbills, only a flock or two of bluebills, and a flock or two of cans. My guess is these diver ducks came from northern MN. No big push yet of any sort. There are some geese around....usually see a few flocks a day, but could be the same flocks over and over. There's about 100 geese resting on the lake I hunt. Not many, but we don't usually see them hang around like they've been doing for the past 4 days.Otherwise, not too much going on. We get a few birds when the NW wind blows, but we haven't seen any major push, which is to be expected with this type of weather. Still waiting for the days when the highs down here in southcentral MN are in the low to mid 30's with lows in the low to mid 20's. Thats when we see the biggest push of northern ducks.Good luck to all and keep the reports coming!
shae1986
The one thing I worry about with most of the ducks still up north is a cold snap that will have them just fly straight through Minnesota. Hopefully Canada gets cold and snow before we do becuase that could make for some great waterfowling action. Good Luck GuysAndrew
oilguy
Same S different year. some whites moved into Nodak last week, but the ducks over there are locally bunched up with little northern recruitment lately. First time I can remember seeing so much bald water over there on halloween weekend. Hunted Nodak's pelican lake over MEA. in past years there has always been 1000's to 10's of 1000's of greater scaup on there at that time. this year there were only a couple hundred at best. plenty of lesser scaup on smaller lakes over that way
