Kevin Turner
I see they are built in Grand Rapids. Any FMer's know much about them? I'm looking at a used one that needs a engine to pump coupler. Any words of wisdom?
0 Valv
I believe they are owned by Caterpillar now, and they own the patent for tracks system.I believe they are top end machines, I wish I have one, but i am stuck (very happy) with my John Deere.Still happier than having a Bobcat.... 0 bigswede
THe 4810 is an ASV machine not a CAT machine. THey are nice. CAt does own a great share of the company now. At one time I think they had Deere motors in them. I work in the construction industry and we are using them all the time. I know if they are used on asphalt or concrete too much teh tracks wear out quickly, and are spendy, but they are a great machine.
0 sheepheadslayer
Hello, I am a salesman for ASV loaders and yes they are a nice machine. Cat owns 20% of ASV. Cat uses the new tracks on there skidsteers and in return ASV gets parts, engines etc, at cats discounted prices. Work good for both of them. If you can get it at the right price and do all the work yourself it may be worth it. I have a couple older models 4520 and MD70 sitting here that are pretty clean. Let me know. 1-800-795-9274 St. Joseph equipment.Ask for Tim
0 Kevin Turner
THX guys...I purchased it this AM. The company that owned it didn't want to mess with the repairs. It's in great shape (well, other than the loud banging noise) with 1206 hrs on it. They think the engine is bad, I think the drive shaft is failing. Either way, I got it cheap, so I'm prepared for the worst & hoping for the best.
