I was looking at my dog and noticed all these white things around her butt. We cleaned them off, and this morning she had a couple new ones. They are white and slimy, what can I do to get rid of these. Do they have anything, like at fleet farm or does a vet need to give her some kind of shot. I am hoping their is some kind of pill. Also I have another dog, he does not have any on the outside could he have them though.

I forget the name of it, but a vet can give the doggie a pill.

my GSP had the same thing, 2 pills and gone. I think the total charge was right around 30 bucks.

My husband asked me to respond to this because I'm a vet. Your dog has tapeworms. I don't think Fleet Farm or Petco or other such places have tapeworm medication. If you check, make sure the package says it treats tapeworms. Otherwise, get dewormer from your vet. The dog gets them from eating muscle tissue of rabbits or rodents or from eating a flea. It's very easy for your other dog to not have the same problem if they came from eating wildlife.

Thanks guys for your replies, It was tapeworm and we picked up some pills at Fleet For like 18 bucks all together for both dogs. They were deworming pills that were supposed to take only like 24 hours knock on wood..
