deadstick
I just got the great news that my wife is going to visit her sister in California from Dec 7-Dec 11 (and taking the kid), so I'm trying to plan a fishing trip. Typically here in ND we've got 4-6 inches of ice (foot or some ATV traffic). Any guys from LOW know if there's ANY chance of being on LOW this early? I'd also like to try Red Lake, but know that you've got a go a ways out, and that won't be possible - but maybe LOW. Otherwise, I'll be stuck with Devils Lake for those 4 days (not bad, but it'd be nice to branch out on a rare "free weekend" for me). Thanks,
PierBridge
I have had my truck on LOW as early as Nov 2.... I would say walking out or 4-Wheeler is a good possiblity or you may want to try Zippel Bay their Bay freezes up pretty early.
ozzie
Last year we went out at morris point(?) on the main lake in a permanant 16x8 pulled out by the resort with their isuzu vehicle they have.. We were out about 1 1/2 miles with a foot or so of ice on DEC 17th...We were one of the first to be pulled out and we where all alone in the middle of nowhere and the ice was making alot of noise.......Oh by the way we hammered the walleye and sauger well over 100 by 3 guys in two days..COME ON ICE!!!!!!!!!! iffwalleyes
Should not be a problem to be on LOW by your time line. IK usually plan a trip there around the timeline your talking. Fishing is alway awesome this time of year.
Philo
Should be fine for ice. Went last year about that time and managed to get out despite a very mild fall. Fishing was fine, but better when I was back in January.
