I didn't see that many deer and the only horns I saw were in the back of trucks. We ended up trying a different spot and one of the guys in our group saw a lot of deer. He ended up taking a small buck on Sun.

I think the weather was too warm to get the deer moving.

I've got the same report as Nells. Went to the spot we scouted out last year right away Saturday and I didn't see movement in the woods until 5:00pm that night. My buddy shot and missed high on a nice bodied 8pt. and his dad missed a doe.

Sunday we woke up to mist while waiting in line. Tried a totally different area and had guys around us the entire morning. Went back to the same woods but a different area and had the place to ourselves. Saw 3 other deer with one spike buck coming within 10 yards of me.

Was only going to shoot if it was a nice buck otherwise let the smaller ones grow up for next year.

Less deer seen from our group than last year. Weather was nice, but I think just a bit too nice this year.

On a side note- saw a real nice 9 pointer a guy had shot! To bad I didn't get to see him when I was in the stand.

How many of you saw that 8 pt standing along the road on the right side just inside of the dnr check station Sat. morning during the initial rush to the stand? Other that that one, we saw 1 five pointer with only the main beam on one side, 3 does, and an 8pt while on stand. I did see 5 does inside one of the "dud zones" on Sat afternoon. No deer got to take a ride in the back of my truck this weekend.

I did not make the hunt this year, but here's another pic that makes me want to go next year. My buddy's cousin got this 208 lb buck on Saturday morning. (I hope he doesn't mind me posting the pic)
