The Yeti
I think it was on Midwest Outdoors. These guys were boating up a river. These Asian Carp were jumping all over the place and the dude was bow hunting them. Even hit a few in the air! A couple of them also either jumped over the boat, or jumped into the boat and hit the guy in the head. It was some pretty awesome video..

The Yeti
I think I also recall them saying that you cannot bow hunt for fish unless the boat is moving?
Quickstrike
i saw that segment also, unreal!!! I also got a kick out of the kick whacking the carp with a stick whenever one was brought into the boat. did i hear right when they said that asian carp are also good to eat?!?!?! musky hunter
That was an incredible piece. Where was it filmed? I only caught about half of the show. I can only imagine what havoc a population of Asian carp would do in Minnesota waters if it were as high as it was there! And catfish farmers want to import them to keep catfish rearing ponds free of mollusks, what a disaster waiting to happen!
Stratosman
It already has happened. They found one in lake Pepin I believe early this summer or near that time. They are impossible to remove from waters once they are in, and spread like wildfire. Image what that would do to the river? People could die getting hit going at a decent clip. H.Hughes
Great show, tough to hit though! A Shotgun with steelshot would be great
Surface Tension
I'd heard of the Flying Carp before but thought they were exagerated until I saw the show. There must have been 20 jumping or should I say flying at one time.
Kab Dreamin
I grew up in central Illinois, right on the Illinois River, and we had a great walleye and sauger fishery right there in the Illinois Valley around LaSalle, Peru, Spring Valley and the Starved Rock State Park area. I talked to a buddy of mine who still lives there a couple of months ago and he says the jumping carp are so thick there that you take your life into your hands if you are heading down the river at full throttle. Imagine a 15-20 lb fish hitting you in the face at 45 or 50 mph! Plastic surgery time. There was an article in the Star-Tribune several months ago about a lady jet skiing on the Illinois River around Peoria that got hit by a carp, knocked unconscious and almost run over by a barge. She was saved by another boater who saw what happened but I think I remember reading that she broke her jaw.Let's hope they don't make it here in any numbers.
