jbell1981
How many signatures would be needed for the dnr to even consider doing this?
HawgTide
There is no magic number. It could be 100 or 10,000. Bottom line is the more people who sign it, the more they will take it serious. We're shooting for 1000 by Nov 15th. That way we could get it "on the docket" for this years changes. After that, we're pretty much waiting another year. We got 155 now. They are still trickling in, good job folks. I got an email from Ron Schara saying he was on board with this idea. If we could only get him to write an article on it! katoguy
biglakebass, I signed the petition early on but wanted to run something past you.A specific petition was being passed around in the City of Mankato (MN) earlier this summer. The city gave a set period of time to come up with X number of signatures. Afterwards, the city denied the petition because many of the people signing it were not legal residents of Mankato. Some were from North Mankato (separate city right across the Minnesota river).I noticed some people from Wisconsin, etc... signed this specific petition. Just a thought. (I don't think my signing a petition for something that may or may not take place in another state would count towards a tally.)
Mark Christianson
I thought the same thing, and I dont really know the answer.....
HawgTide
It won't matter in this case. We're just trying to show the DNR how many of us want to legally fish for Bass instead of Walleye. If folks from other States want to come over here early to spend their money, then it might actually help that we have Out of Towners signing it.
