wax or polish?

Anyone know of a good wax or polish that will get that dull residue look out of a fiberglass boat and get the shine back?

Clean it good and use any carnuba wax.

The dull look can be from crud, dead wax or oxidized gel coat. In the later case rubbing compound will remove the dead layer.
Finish up with multiple layers of wax.

Check your local parts supply store for some Compounds. Synthetic cutting cream by Production is awesome for removing crud and putting a shine back on the boat. Or check out the Professional line of Meguiars, they have a Heavy, Medium, Light, and very Light. The Heavy is gritty and breaks down gradually leaving a shine. Use a wool pad with a electric buffer for the first step, then follow up with either a synthetic wool pad or foam pad with your polish (Medium). Follow the directions on the bottle or get a brochure at the store when you get the product and it will tell you the proper steps.
