Fish_Off
was looking at getting a Charles Daly Lh semi auto field hunter, but have heard nothing but bad things. If you have any input about the performance of this gun especially along the lines of ejecting shells(as is my big consern) please let me know .Thanks Fish Off
Guest
I personaly have not owned any of the C.D. shotguns..My brother-in-law used one for a few seasons.. I dont remember many outings where he wasnt taking it apart and adjusting things...At the same time he was one to try to *fix things when they werent broken*. I know he had issues when changing ammunition.

Rost
I would buy a good pump shotgun before a CD. A CD will wreck a lot of hunts for you. I would either go with a pump or be patient and save for a better semi-auto.
Finlander
Last spring in South Dakota my brother had a CD and after a half a box of Federal Ultra shock, the only thing that got shocked was the gun! The return spring could'nt handle the 1550 fps loads and collapsed and that was with 3" shells! The next gun I buy for goose hunting will be a Mossberg 935. I currently shoot a 1187 Supermag and they just don't pattern as well as the 935. And at long range for snow geese you need the best patterning gun and the overbore gives you that. Check it out! Sartell Angler
get a Remington 870 Mag. and be done worrying about your gun...just make sure it is in the truck / boat along with some shells on each hunt, and you will be free to focus on things that actually matter like setting out a good decoy spread or making a good blind. I got mine in 8th grade, now I'm a Junior in College..and I have not had a SINGLE problem as of yet. I basically shoot the gun year 'round as well, pounding pigeons and crows to keep my shooting sharp. Even been known to hammer away at a few starlings in the spring should the opportunity arise. My brother got a Mossberg pump with 3 1/2 capability and it falls apart on a weekly basis.Get the 870! I plan on hunting with mine until it falls apart...and then buying another one exactly like the first!SA/wdw
