snowmobile electric start??

has anyone owned a snowmobile with electric start?

how reliable is it

looking at an 98' arctic cat 440 engine for a "winter go-cart" just wondering if its worth looking for one with elec-start or is it more of a hassle then its worth

Electric start is nice anytime but when it's cold out it's super sweet not having to pull a stiff cold sled.

Of course you need a good batterey.

Reverse is super handy also.

Electric start is a very nice convenience to have. I replaced my battery last winter, the old one was 9 years old and finally died.

In the circles that I traveled while into snowmobiling craze, I was the only one in the group with electric start. The number one reason the other guys didn't have it was because of the extra weight it represents, more weight = speed reduction. I will be the first to say that for what little difference I noticed running with the big boys I would never own another one without it. Definitely worth the extra money, also makes me think reverse may be well worth it.
