Looking for a tough, wrapped fiber optic sight

I really like the brightness of the Cobra sidewinder sights, but am leery of the unprotected length of fiber between the spools and pins - I'd bust em in the first half hour. Looking at some from Impact Archery, the Collector and Hammerhead. The Skylight from MT Black Gold looks nice, but is spendy. Any comments on them or other suggestions?

I would also take a look at Trueglow, they have some new sights that are that cats meow! Completely encased optic and pin brightness that rivals that of the sidewinder. I actually took several of the sight out and tested them (in the store) and Trueglow appeared the best. This will be the first year that I have hunter with this brand of sight. So far in practice, it has performed very well. Good luck!

jlm,

Yep the Truglos look great, but I really don't want 5 pins. The design on the 3 pin Globrite worries me as does the Cobras. If those new Truglos came in a 3 pin design I'd have one already. I believe they are all 5 pin models except the Globrite?

If you want to take the risk, you can probably remove two of the pins yourself. The other thing you could do it push one way up and the other way down and put a little dot of black paint over the fiber optic pin so it will not distract you. Anyway, good luck with your search and let us know what you come up with!

When I got my new bow last year I went with the Vital Gear Pendulum site, one pin. The whole thing is still in the round, heavy duty guard, & it swivels with gravity to adjust for angle. I've been very happy with it. Simple is much better for me personally.

Off topic, but many are the lumenocs awesome. It's like having a little flashlight on your arrow, when it comes to finding them in the dark. I've gotta get 1-2 more.
