18 inch Crappie
A friend of mine was at Strikemaster yesterday to get some repairs done on his auger and they had a 35cc 4 stroke 8" auger with a plastic bit. They started it and ran it for him, he said the motor was smaller then his 2 stroke. Some Pro used it last winter to test it out. Cool........ iffwalleyes
Well it would kind of make sense for someone to make one of these. It will cut down on the fumes in the house for sure.
PierBridge
Quote:Well it would kind of make sense for someone to make one of these. Definitely makes sense if you want to stay in the auger business, 2 stroke augers will not manufactured or sold in the near future.
Jim Hudson
Yup, StrikeMaster has come out with a new 4 stroke synthetic auger for this coming year. The Strike-Lite, with a 4 cycle 35cc engine will be available with an 8" bit and weighs a whopping 20lbs. Should be available soon. The best features I see with this unit is the weight, that a person will not have to mix gas/oil, and of course there is no smoke with a 4-Stroke!!! Northlander
4 stroke ice auger at only 20 pounds? The plastic bit sounds interesting. I will have to check yours out when you get it Jimbo.
Jim Hudson
You do that Steve If my memory serves me correctly, the auger bit weights a mere 5 1/2 lbs.
