Brule River (WI)

I really would like to my new jet boat (riverpro lopro) up the brule and fish it. My big concern would be p!ssing ppl off. Is the Brule wide enough so I could keep my distance from the other fisherman? Or should I think twice about it?

I would probably grab the waders and leave the boat on the trailer.

a canoe gets in the way. sorry the brule is no where near big enough.

You should check the regulations, I'm pretty sure that power boats are prohibited.

That is the problem, I've search high and low in the WI DNR handbook and I could not find any restrictions (doesnt mean their arent any though)

that sure is a nice boat, i would not want to take the risk of all the dents and scratches you would probally receive from people throwing rocks at it. people are very protective of the brule and i am pretty sure motorized crafts are not legal. a boat is not neccessary for the lower river, there are many access spots and in my opinion most of the better fishing is away from the mouth.

most of the brule is as wide as your boat! there is absolutly NO way you could navigate that river in any watercraft except a canoe/kayak. try the clearwater or snake rivers in Idaho. theres plenty of room for a jet boat out there.

I was out yesterday and the water is going back down and seemed to be clearing up throughout the morning. Still moving a bit fast so I just bounced around to some of the slower holes. I lost three fish before I could see em. There's fresh snags eveywhere some of the holes have changed a bit. At a point I usually cross I almost went down with the Fitzgerald as it seems a small deep hole appeared where it used to be only 3 feet deep. I'll be back out later this week as the flow slows down a bit. I'm not a fan of that fast water and besides there's ducks to kill. Saw 6 canvasbacks hanging around yesterday too. Big ducks.

i was out two days ago and water is back to looking good (in my opinion) lost one nice fish drifting through some pockets and my partner landed two smaller steelies. we also caught a half dozen jacks. lots of wood in the holes so be ready to re tie a few hooks.

I found Brown! Two nice browns and lost three coho. Everyone else I've talked to out there hasn't been doing well at all...or perhaps don't care to speak of their success. Either way I have fun out there.

i was out a few days ago and took home a nice chrome coho other than that it was pretty slow, worked the big holes downstream from 13 but think i'll try up higher next time.
