Dave
Portable fish house assembly should be easy and quick. To show just how easy an Otter Outdoor fish house assembles, I asked a team of young anglers to take on the challenge. Frame Bracket Installation Frame Assembly Square Tubing with Ultra-Glide System Frame Completed Canvas Trim-Lock Installation Rod Holder Install The kids did a GREAT job assembling the Otter Outdoor Cottage on the UltraWide sled! The only assembly step I thought they needed adult help with (due to height of assemblers ) was lifting the canvas over the frame assembly. And, only a couple reminders of "better look at the instructions". Team Otter Assemblers Fish house assembly can't get much easier than this! Matt Johnson
Outstanding work kids (and Dave )! That was a lot of fun to watch! Those kids sure put that Otter together in a hurry! Good Fishin, Matt Johnson
metrojoe
How much do they charge for assembly? I may need thier help this fall. Looks like they were having fun. What a great way to get them envolved.
Ray Esboldt
I was going to suggest the same thing as MetroJoe. I need them little folk to assemble mine next time. It actually was pretty easy once I started to read the directions...duh!
Northlander
Looks like they figured it out rather quickly. Mine was slick to set up as well. I really like my Otter Lodge.
Random guy
I flipped my Otter upside down on one of those "I can make that" with the wheeler manuvers. Needless to say I installed new poles and canvas in a parking lot and was back out on the lake within an hour. Definetley some good thought into the design. Yukon Don
Hi Guys,I agree the assembly was easy, but the poles just don't slide. I bought a Magnum lodge last year which has the square tubing with plastic slides at the ends. I used it several times last winter and it took a lot of force to get that thing to slide to the pin position. I tried silicone spray which someone recommended and still it won't slide very well. I see metal rubbing marks up and down the tubing which to me means that the fit is too tight. I'm at a loss as to what to do with the thing.Any help would be appreciated. Dave
There were no "burrs" on the end of the poles?
Yukon Don
Hi Dave,No burrs, I even filed the ends prior to installing the plastic caps. I just think that the interface fit with one pole inside the other is too tight. Maybe with use it will wear down to the point of sliding easily. I have an older style Otter with round poles and that one works great. Need to sell it though after buying this new one
Dave
Don,Try measuring between the frame brackets, front to front and rear to rear, to make sure the brackets are square with each other. If they're off a bit, that could cause some binding.
