Bilge Problem

My bilge pump is not working. It seems to be burning out fuses every time I hit the switch. When I hit the switch it trys to work but just sputters and burns the fuse. What is the problem???

You could have something stuck in the impellor of the pump so it can't spin.

It's fried!!! Burned the bearing and now it's froze up. They are cheap and easy to replace. Some you have to replace the whole thing and others are just a cartridge that you replace.

Yup, git 'ir done. I tried cleaning and lubing one once. Worked but was unreliable. Get a replacement and the installtion is easy.

Install is easy depending on what kinda boat you have, I had to do my auto-bilge this spring in my 1890 ProV, getting my forearms down that little 6" hole in the splashwell was no easy task!!

Easy to replace. But often hard to get at. Seems like I'm either replacing a bilge or a livewell pump every 2-3 years. Both are buggers to get at in my rig(also a lund).

Yup, both front and rear livewell pumps scheduled for next spring, although, those aren't too bad, they're right under the floor by the consoles.
