NE angler
I just bought a boat from a guy the other day and I think I got a steal. He advertised it as a '88 Lund Rebel w/ new trailer and by the picture looked in real good shape. When I got there he tells me he just pulled it out of storage after 3 years at a marine place(had all the paper work and maintenance records) and said with his business he just can't get out anymore. After a few minutes of talking and haggling we agreed at $2,500. So I take it home and start going through it with a fine tooth comb. Here is what is has on it, Wave wackers, bow mount trolling motor, Hummingbird flasher, 2000 shorelander trailer, tool box with tool set, grease gun, 2 oars, fire ex., 2 anchors, 2 rod holders, 1 extra casting seat, it has a '89 40 hp evinrude (when I took off the hood the engine was spotless and all wire and hoses replaced), kicker motor mount, and a bunch of buoy markers and other gadgets. It said Rebel Special Edition on the side so It made me wonder if it may not be a Rebel. Come to find out it is a '88 Pro Angler 16 - imagine my suprise! For as good of shape as it is in - did I get a good deal? The outboard runs like a dream and the only thing I needed to fix was a leaky lift cylinder for the motor. A blind squirrel finds a nut every once and a while! Now with the money I saved I can rig with all new electronics and such.
Norsky
As long as it wasn't stolen, I think you got a great deal.
danfall
If you can get a clear title, was a good deal.

RedDB76
Sounds like you got a great deal. Deals like that can be had in Nebraska.....definately not as much demand for a walleye style boat down there. I just moved back to MN last year from Omaha - so I know.A friend and I were actually seriously thinking about doing some boat running between NE and MN. We seemed to find a lot of good deals in Nebraska, that we could make some money on in Minnesota. Not all the time - but if you keep your eye out, you can find some.....and probably turn them around and make $1000 or so dollars (minus travel expenses). Since I make trips to Nebraska now and then anyways, the travel isn't such a big deal. I've also found some decent deals in Iowa and South Dakota... Valv
ANNOUNCEMENT !!! Somebody stole my Lund boat from parking lot last week, reward is available...... Just kidding, made you sweat ???? That is a good price for that boat. This year is a good year to buy boats, they are cheap. In fact I am not going to sell them, since I make no money. This tells you the bottom line. That boat would have been sold for $ 1,000 more any other year....
