Sheephead Slayer
Since there is no pre-fishing on the 20th, Paul and I were wondering who would be interested in a Muskie contest on Battle lake that day? Or does anyone have any other ideas for the 20th? Kevin
Matt Johnson
Muskie!?!? I was thinking maybe a panfish contest Brian and I were thinking about possibly fishing West Battle on that Saturday. Maybe chase down a few smallies or something. Muskies could be a little tough, mostly due to the fact that I'm not equipped to effectively target them... Either way, we'll be fishing on that Saturday... I'll be in Wadena on that Friday, is anyone going to be staying at Chuck's on Friday night? I'm going to stay at my Aunt and Uncles house in Wadena that night, but I'll swing up for a barley pop or two Good Fishin, Matt Johnson
BDR
Let's see, I will be on Leech for seven days prior. I think I might be tired of chucking baits bigger than most of the fish I catch.Really I would be up for about anything.
cluelessfisherman
Hmm... a muskie contest on West battle you say??? I may have to give a Nebraskan a call....
Paul Waldowski
The Nebraskan you say!.............. Give him a call and lets have a Muskie contest
ChuckN
I was going to post this very same question, but you beat me to it Sheepie! I was thinking more in the lines of a multi-species contest, like usual. Not everyone fishes muskies, but if you guys want to chase muskies, go ahead....they do give a lot of winning points! Don't worry about pre-fishing, I'll tell all my tactics and spots so everyone is somewhat on a level playing field. We need to do something that Saturday!!! Paul Waldowski
I'm up for whatever. Chuck, knowing you and your giving up the good spots I think I will stay away from them...Don't want to try fishing the middle of a field anytime soon.
Borch
Any idea as to what time the event would start on Saturday? I'm hoping that we'll be able to make it for both days of fishing.
Bushwacker
We're in for muskie or whatever. Speaking of, how come none of the lakes that we have fished so far have had muskies in them? Just a coincidence? My wife and I are hosting a party for my sporting clays team on that Friday night, so it could be a short night if the Saturday tourney starts very early. ChuckN
I had something in mind like a late morning, early afternoon event. Not a full 8 hour deal, just like 4 hours or so. Just keep it fun. Hours between 10am-2pm? Noon-4pm or so?? 2pm-6pm? Give people enough time to drive up and set up camp, etc..What do you guys think?
Bushwacker
I would prefer the 12-4 or 2-6 times, but I could make it up there by 10 if we have to.
