Rapala Treble Replacement

I have a few Rapalas that need their trebles replaced, was wondering if replacing them with VMC original equipment is the only way to go. I was considering if other brands would throw off the action/balance. What have all of you done in the past? Thanks

I replace mine with excalibur counter rotating trebles. If it's a Rapala that I'm going to use alot (a replacement for a favorite) I switch hooks right out of the box.

I think you are fine to use whatever. We put all different sizes and styles on ours and they seem to work the same as far as fish seem to know.

Try replacing with triple grips, they hold fish pretty well.

I have replaced the front treble, on several of mine, with red trebles. This was the ticket on the opener 7 walleyes vs. 3 walleyes. All red was not as productive also. The different brands haven't affected the lure as far as I can tell.

Put a red treble on the front and a Mustad Triple Grip on the back.
