Ok, heres a crazy idea for nascar instead of the all star race. I know it would never work because of sponsors and such. Stay with me here i'm in dream land. But would it be cool to see them take 42 racers and 42 cars and draw to see whos car you race in a non points event. Just picture Jeff gordon running in Pettys car. You got Jr in the 48, maybe Bill Schrader in the 16 car. I know brands and sponsors would never work, but that would be a interesting race to watch.

It would be interesting to see,but as you stated the sponsors probably wouldnt like it.Jr could have a good day with the cars of many top drivers but he would probably need thier whole team and then still probably a lack of communication,from driver to crew for set-up and chassis changes,the place I think they are really bad.

Maybe they could make it like a go-cart race with a governor or some type of restricter to make the cars equal? Oh wait they already do that.

I'd like an IROC type race better where the cars are all set up to be equal and then the random draw for which car you will drive. You can keep your own crew and chief and spotter, but the car is what it is and is impounded.

Then the driver/team will be the difference, not the equipment...

I like the idea..........but it will never happen. There have been a few local dirt track races where say, the old timers jump in someones car and race....I mean wreck it. It's a joy for the fans but the car owners hate it. I think the same feelings would apply in Nascar.

I like the IROC scenario. Same cars, same set up. The best team that day brings home the chrome.

Good idea but as said by others I think the sponsor's would throw it out prettt quick. The IRCO would be great but don't they have like only 12 cars that run in that.

hahahahaha roflmao! That's the best thing I've ever heard you say! Run what you brung, I say. Too bad it's all about money now and big business as that's why the "run what you brung rules" went away. Single team operations wouldn't be able to last if they didn't make the cars equal as possible. Just another step down the slippery slope..............
