Unknown Lowrance GPS antena

picksbigwagon

Question

The boat I just boat has an older ( I am guessing 5 years maybe) antenae for a lowrance GPS. My question is where do I find out what kind of Locator does it go to.....it is a rectangular one and the new ones are all round. I have a hand held GPS unit so I don't need the antenae but if I could get a locator that would use the GPS, I could keep my hand held with my ice fishing equipment. Any help would be greatly appreciated......

That antenna will work with the old LMS 350 or first edition GlobalMap.

If you want to sell it, you will find somebody here that will be interested.

Just be sure to list it in the For Sale section, or it will be removed.

By old global map do you mean the global map 100? I have that hand held so if that is what it will work with I will hang on to it. Thanks Valv. I knew that if I wanted to sell it, this is definately the place for that

Valv, it won't jive with my hand held so what can a guy expect to get for something like this on FM? I have no idea how much to ask for something like this....I have looked on hsolist and have found one at 165, is that a fair price, I wouldn't think so, but what would be a good starting price?

I had the rectangular as you describe, on my GlobalMap 2000 which I bought in 1996. I don't believe it was dgps capable, and it definately is not WAAS capable. I have seen them on hsolist, but they are old technology compared to the present day stuff. I think $165 is waaaay strong a price for an older unit. Check the completed items on hsolist, and that will tell you what people are willing to pay for them. Good luck.

I am not surprised of the $ 165.00 even if a little high, this unit is not made anymore, and to use a newer antenna on the LMS 350a you have to send it in and have it updated, depending from model it is not possible on others.

So your antenna has a certain value I wouldn't undermine.

You can find a used LMS 350a on hsolist and use your antenna, you'll have an excellent unit.

This unit is not made for handheld.
