Respectfully, I'm not happy DEI is having a bad year. It's rather bothersome, actually. Ya have to admit Hendricks and Rouch are pretty much smokin up every race out there. As far as team play goes, DEI needs to take a look at the teams that are acutally winning.

On a side note...I just got my tickets for the Nationals event in Cedar Lake, WI August 5 and 6. Now THAT is good racing.

Legal disclaimer- I'm not a Hendricks fan in the least bit.

Dawg,

From their web-site;

The crown jewel of Cedar Lake Speedway’s schedule, the 18th ANNUAL USA NATIONALS, takes to the track Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, August 4, 5, and 6, and will pay the winner $40,000. For the first time, the event will be sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. “We are very excited to have drivers such as Scott Bloomquist, Billy Moyer, Dale McDowell, Dan Schlieper, Rick Eckert, Steve Francis and Chub Frank return to the USA Nationals," exclaimed Steve Kaufman of CLS. "Moreover, our fans will see drivers such as Tim McCreadie and Josh Richards who have never been to Cedar Lake before." The big weekend starts off Thursday with a full show of modifieds, super stocks, midwest modifieds and street stocks along with late model practice. The action continues on Friday with time trials, heat races and dashes for the WoO late models and a full show of late models. Time trials for the WoO cars will be conducted in groups instead of one car at a time. The dashes will take the top finishers in heat races, scramble their starting positions, and their finishing positions will determine the lineup of the front rows for the $40,000 to win feature on Saturday night. Saturday’s finale will include the semi-features and the huge $40,000 to win feature for the WoO portion of the show. Late models will run another complete show. Many local and regional late model competitors have already indicated they will be racing in the WoO portion of both the Masters and the USA Nationals.

I grew up going to Cedar Lake speedway pretty much every weekend. When I was a young-un that track was pretty much like the local ones that just had the local racers. Boy howdy has Cedar Lake ever changed. If you've never been there I highly recommend a road trip. It's awesome racing.

The more I read this thread, the more I want Lil "e" to push Lil jeffy into the wall.

Take stewart out too thank you !

First, there is nothing cool about wishing for someone to hit the wall. Second, the only way Jr. could put Jeff into the wall is if he did it while Jeff was lapping him or else he'd never be close enough to catch him!

Wishing someone to taste the wall.......not cool.

How about on any given Sunday may the better driver, with the better team, with the better car, and a dash of luck win.

Think back a few years. Jr and Mikey winning a race in Daytona. Dale Sr doing a little blocking for them. (agree or disagree with that if you like) Ya just know there were people out there thinking,"Geez, I wish someone would just put Dale into the wall." Well, he went into the wall allright. I wonder how all those people felt after that.

I never knew that bringing something about Jr up would get this many posts.Must be the reason that he is so popular, everyone loves him or loves to hate him, somewhat the same as Dale Sr.Last year He gave the Hendrick car all they could handle and maybe next year with whatever team he is driving for,he will give them a run for there money again.I would love to see him in a #3 CHILDRESS CAR.

What I don't understand is why are they still showing him on TV and updating his progress/regress? They don't show the 17 and he has a cup! They don't show much of the 18 or 20 and they have cups too. At they end of the race ol'DW reads off the top and and then Jr.s spot in 25th or whatever it is for the week. They don't make a special effort to tell you where Scott Riggs is. Why does the media make it out to be the Dale Jr and 42 other guys event? Jeez, I'm about tired of this, and maybe that's why I tape the races now and just watch the first 50 laps and the last 100.

tHEY COVER JR ALOT BECAUSE RIGHT NOW THATS WHAT MOST OF THE PEOPLE WANT,IF THEY DIDNT,THEN THE MEDIA WOULD COVER SOMEONE ELSE.YOU HAVE TO COVER WHAT SELLS AND JR SELLS,WHETHER YOU LIKE HIM OR NOT.

I think Jr is signed till 07. Once Truex resigns which was supposed to happen this week or maybe next week. Hopefully they re-sign the czar of nascar. Maybe Paul Menard can run some cup races. DEI might perform better with more cars in the field. Four different cars, four setups to try.

Also I was watching Wind Tunnel, Dave had asked Rondeau to come on the show. He declined. Rondeau told him that the cars he was working on were not of the same spec. as Mikeys. Rondeau complained and complained. The first car that they got up to spec was at Charlotte. Rondeau said there was no communication between teams.

JR IS JUST THAT BIG EVEN WHEN HE IS NOT DOING WELL,WOULDNT THAT BE GREAT IF YOU COULD HAVE A HUMBLING YEAR AND YET YOU ARE STILL ONE OF THE TOP COVERAGES.tHATS JUST HOW BIG HE IS RIGHT NOW.

Oh I know he's that big, and I kind of feel sorry for him in a way, and at the same time it goes to show where this sport has gone and what it has left.

I just have to wonder if he's that popular because of who his daddy was, if he's that good or if the media/NA$CAR/mob guys dictated it? Just something to think about.

It would be interesting to see how loyal his fans would be if there was a two-three year dry spell? Do you think Dale Jarret or Bobby Labonte has the same number of fans that he did 5 years ago?

The thing I can't figure out is why Elliott Sadler isn't getting the "love and attention" he deserves, not to mention Biffle and Martin, but Sadler, they haven't given him hardly any TV time, AND HE'S THIRD IN POINTS!!!!

Don't get me wrong here, I'm a Chevy man all the way, but let's give those the respect they deserve! Right now I'd say Sadler is the unspoken darkhorse to win the cup, even if he hasn't won a race yet.

Anyway, there's been a lot of discussion about Jeff, Jr, Hendrick, Roush....just thought I'g put in a word for Sadler!

(very heated subject going on here!) smile.gif

Well guy's this thread has about gone eveywhere it could.

One think it shows and I've said this before. People will fight to the bitter end about "there" team. As many of you have said Na$car is all about the money and who ever has the dollar face is going to get the coverage. I do feel sorry for the guy's that are having good years and are being kick to the curb.

The comemtaters touched on that last week as to where the line is drawn between sport and entertainment. I think the line is getting dangerously close to being more entertainment than sport. Can you say WWE on wheels?

"Taste the wall" LOL!! I love it !!

Allisons, Johnson, Yarborough, Parson, Pearson, Baker, Jarret, Earnhardt Sr. That was the most exciting racing ever and there was ALOT of "wall tasting" going on.

Yeah.....It was cool !!

"I was'nt tryin' to wreck him. Just rattle his cage"

(Dale Sr.)

If there was any wall to be tasted, Dale sr. had a buffet going on.

Earnhardt Sr. lived by the sword and died by the sword.

He went out doing what he loved.

UB, I agree with everything you just said except you forgot Waltrip.

Yes, it's exciting and oh yes, Dale Sr was the kingpin of putting his fellow drivers into the wall.

Be a fan, heck be a fanatic if you want. But it's still not cool to sit and wish someone tastes wall. Sure, it looks cool, but after cutting many a driver out of a car it just isn't cool to me anymore.
