limited out
Can anyone tell me the fastest way to get to Pierre, SD from the Twin Cities? Should i take Hwy 212 all the way West or take 169 down to I-90? We are leaving today to fish Oahe this weekend. Thanks.
Eric Wettschreck
Dude, take 212. 169 to I-90 is way out of the way.

deeky
Just made the trip Memorial day weekend. Here are the directions that I got from my uncle in Pierre:212 west past Redfield.Turn south on 45 to MillerOn the north edge of Miller, turn west on 14 all the way into Pierre. This turns into Euclid which is a main N/S route that goes on the west side of the capitol. After the S curve (if you don't know now, you'll know it when you get there), you'll be on Sioux, which is the main E/W route. Sioux is under construction, down to two narrow lanes west of where Euclid comes out, so it might be tricky with a boat. There is some road construction and bad roads on some of the other routes, but this got me around all of it a couple of weeks ago. And...65 mph all the way.Have a good trip, I hear water levels on Oahe are coming back up a little.Deeky
limited out
thanks guys. The only reason i asked is i figured the interstate might be quicker since you can fly 75 mps without a lot of stops in smaller towns. We took 212 out there last year to visit my brother-in-law and really got into the walleyes on lake oahe.
Jarrod32
Depending on where you are leaving from in the Twin Cities area, take Highway 7 to Montevideo and then get on 212 and follow deeky's directions.
