White rust on lead sinkers?

I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the white rust that forms on lead sinkers?

Sounds like corrosion, and you can deal with that with a little coca-cola.

The white power is oxidation. To help avoid it keep the sinkers in there zip bag.
I guess the powder could have lead attached to it which is the only problem I see in not having shinny sinkers.

A scotch brite pad works, or steel wool.
