Anybody used them? What colors, method and any success?

I have heard great things about these. They have awsome action in the water. They have a few different colors at Joe's Sporting Goods, but they won't see anymore till the beginning of next month. Apparently, Rapala can't make them fast enough. They are excellent for pike.

Used them last weekend. Tore up the Walleye's with the X-rap. No northerns.

What colors were you using? What sizes do they come in?

They just had one size, I believe it was the 07 but don't quote me on that. I've had success with the Perch, Purple/Red/Gold, Clown, and Silver. One of my co-workers went out last weekend and just hammered pike all day on these.

Sounds like color didn't really matter that day. How have you been working them? Random, eratic retrieve? Try a little of everything?

Had good success on the Blue X rap for Laker/Salmon on Superior last weekend. Landed one nice laker on it and had 3 other fish that pulled off. Worked best on the planer line where it had a pumping action from the planer board surging over the waves. Mill's had a real nice selection of them last week.

Rapala is expanding the Xrap line. A jointed one, some larger sizes that will be great for muskies. Have to wait until next winter but some good looking lures. Meanwhile the beauty of the Xrap is it can be fished anyway you want to - straight retrieve, jerk bait. Just keep trying different retrieves to find out what the fish want. It catches everything. I use the Blue, Olive green and glass ghost. For muskies switch to the saltwater Xrap. Little bigger with heavy duty hooks same colors.

I used the X-rap Last weekend at my cabin in Nothern WI. It worked great on the pre-spawn smallmouths that were cruising steep drop offs. I did not get any pike which suprised me. I can't wait to see a larger version for muskie/northerns. It looks very good in the water.

Trolling or casting ?

I was casting X raps paralell to the dropoff. They are fairly heavy so casting them was no problem with a bait caster.
