Has any one caught anything out of the courthouse lake yet??

I fished that tons when i was a kid and want to get back into it shortly. i ran a 5k race thru that area a few weekends ago and saw a fella walking with what from a distance looked like a big carp only to get closer and find that it was a huge brown!!!!! Nice catch. There are a lot of folks that fish there.

I've tried Courthouse a couple of times this year, but have had no success, althogh I've seen quite a few fish being caught. I have trouble keeping the sunnies off of the hook. Maybe I need to try another bait that won't attrack the sunnies? Any suggestions?

I don't think theres a bait that sunnies won't take. But you might wanna try some artificals. I've had decent luck using small in-line spinners, such as Mepps, Roostertails, Vibrax. Also small jerk baits too. I like to make long cast parallel to the shoreline, about 10yrs out.

powerbait trout formula usually works pretty good. however, not yesterday morning. They didn't want to take anything on the fly either. beadhead olive wooly bugger, dam creek, crickets, no takers.

oh, p.s. bring the bug dope. those skeeters are ravenous. I forgot mine and it was miserable until I got into the waders.

Is Courthouse lake a designated trout lake? Just curious if I can use live minnows.

It's in Chaska right behind the courthouse. It is a designated trout lake so no live minnows.

it's a grat trout lake I have taken alout of trout out of their in the summer and winter. I use to live a block a way from their and fish it everynight. I live in carver now and coaching both my daughters softball teams. Haven't had time to go out.

I have heard great things about that lake but only fished it once and when i did i didnt get anything.I heard a story though about a guy and his wife who were fishin down there and hooked in to about a 10 pound lake trout and fought it for like 30 minutes and my dads friends dad helped them out cause they didnt have net and he did.Then i heard about that guys sone went out there and saw like 3 or 4 lake trout swimmin on the surface but they wouldnt bite.
